I have lived and drive in the northwest, mostly. Hauling 50,000 lbs. plus up over tall mountains can use a bit more fuel.
I have a brother that travels with a diesel pickup and a fifth wheel and he is meticulous about logging fuel and mileage. He claims the brand of diesel fuel can effect mileage 10% on a regular basis. He is very selective about the brand of fuel he uses. There is one brand of diesel that he will not buy given any choice.
Just something else to mix the pot.
