Does anyone know how to remove the AC power selector switch located to the left
of the door beside the passenger seat. My switch was damaged by a power surge
and is almost impossible to switch. I have crawled under the wheel well and
removed the insulation on the enclosure box and can see no way to access.
Anyone ever removed this switch? Any help appreciated

If BB used the same transfer switch enclosure on the PT as the FC, the top comes off the enclosure with a row of phillips head screws.

below floor or above? There are no visible screws under the lift up door and I
could not see any below floor. Looks as if the enclosure is between the metal
and plywood floor. I am thinking that I will have to remove the carpet and
plywood??????

Rex:
You are correct. You will not see any screws on top. I have not taken my switch apart but have worked on many typical of these.
There should be a plate with the words of shore, 50 amp etc, on it, this could be moved to the top or bottom and should pop out. Underneath you will find the screws Bob is talking about.
If this does not work, I will be going to my coach tomorrow and have a look.

Removed plate and found screws, will remove as time allows. Thank you for your
help. Do you know if switches are repairable? Who repairs? If not repairable,
a source for the switch?

Thanks again!

Yes, these are rebuildable. I am not sure if you can pick up a new one for your coach or not.
I would find a reputable repair shop, probably some like :http://http://www.wwcomponents.net/. Make sure to get it silver coated, and send them the whole switch, lots of little springs and the alignment is important.

Some info on these switches - they are NOT load break switches. The ideal way is to open the main breaker, change to the position required and then close the main breaker again.
On the same note, if the generator is required, always make sure the generator is up to speed and running smoothly before putting the load on, otherwise the current could be a lot higher than required.
