I noticed that my house batteries do not charge when the generator runs
only when the engine is running. What do I look for?

I don't know the specifics of 90's, but to get from generator power --> battery power there has to be a charger or inverter/charger somewhere powered by the generator which is sending 12/14V to the battery bank.

On my 94 WB, I believe the Aux. Battery Switch must be on when running the
generator or hooked to shore power for the house batteries to charge.
