Hey Folks,
Im in the Hot and Sunny South. I'm plugged up to 50 amp service. My upper dash
gauges... Leg One Volts reads left of 60 volts, Leg Two Volts reads 125...
My Leg One Amp gauge reads 0, Leg two reads normally as it fluctuates to the
pull of the air conditioners and appliances... If I run all three air
conditioners and I turn on the water heater it kicks the breaker out on the
pole. I can run two air conditioners and the water heater ok... It just seems
that everything thing is on Leg Two... Never had this problem before now. I've
always been able to run everything at once with no issues... Help if you can...
Thanks

Ray,
My first thought would be that the power you are plugged in to is not a true 50 amp, but rather a single leg connected to both sides of the outlet. If you have a voltmeter, read between the two hot connections. If it is true 50 amp service it will read 240 Volts approx. If it is not true 50 amp but both legs wired to one leg of supply it will read 0 Volts.
Here is a link to instructions for building a 50 amp tester http://www.myrv.us/electric/Pg/tester_50amp.htm

Ray, start your generator and see where your voltage meters go. If they both show 125, then maybe your power cable is faulty

I suspect low shore voltage due to high usage or another shore power problem.
Test the shore outlet. It should read 120V from either side to neutral (also
either side to ground) and 240 volts across the two hots. Remember that, certain
inductive loads will draw more current when the voltage drops thereby causing
overloads. On coaches with three air conditioners it should be wired so two are
on one leg and one on the other (probably the water heater is on thew leg with
the one air conditioner).
