Hi, folks--
A few of you asked offline about this. We are hoping to have some answers to share in a couple days.
From the Teleflex tech support guy, we got a short list of criteria and dataneeded to calculate the elusive settings for those 9 dip switches on the speedometer/odometer: The data includes the number of teeth/sprockets on the brake drum for the proximity switch that drives the speedometer (this is on a back wheel--passenger side), tire size, number of revolutions per mile (the tire manufacturer can supply this figure), and gear ratio.
Stew tried to crawl under the coach to count the number of teeth/sprockets, but couldn't quite get a clear enough view of the entire wheel. However, our mechanic thinks he'll be able to jack up the rear of the coach and get an accurate count of the teeth/sprockets.
Then they'll try to work out the formula to get the dip switch settings, and if that's a problem, they'll call Teleflex tech support, who said they most likely can supply those.
Note to Stephen: We are sure hoping we can get this to work, and that some useful information will come out of the experience--e.g., data we can share with you and with the group. If we can get the device to work, we'll send our payment. If not, we'll return the device, and probably get a device directly from Teleflex with the settings figured out. But we are sure hoping for a positive outcome with the device we got from you, and that you'll have useful data you can pass along with any of these devices you sell in the future.
