We will be passing through the area southbound from OKC to Austin in a few days,
and would like to stay a few nights in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. We have
previously stayed (three times) at cowtown in Aledo and once in Terrell, but
both are somewhat out of the way when coming through on 35E or W.

Any recommendations?

R V Ranch in Burleson is probably your best bet. It is on I-35 just south of Ft. Worth and is quite large and all I hear is positive. Hope this helps.

Don,
You might try Trader’s Village. It’s in Grand Prairie. There is also a state park (Cedar Hill State Park) that has 30 Amp and water for $20 a night. All in all, Trader’s village was a nice park last time we were there. 50 amp FHU, full concrete parking pads, big rig friendly. Not much to choose from in the Metroplex that is close in and not packed like sardines.

Hmm. According to the reviews, RV Ranch has become a Jellystone park and renamed
Rustic Creek Ranch. Reviews indicate good for kids, but not so good for those
without. Anybody have comments on this?

For future reference, does anyone know of RV parks near Sheppard AFB, which is located just outside of Wichita Falls. Thanks, George Burke 1977 FC31SB Charlotte

Thanks, Ernie. If you were home we would probably take you up on that, but since
you aren't I think we won't head west there.

Grand Prairie does look pretty convenient. So-so reviews, but typical for
anything close to a metro area. Wonder if Texas being in the playoffs will
affect campground fill rates?

There is a nice park at Lake Lewisville about 20 miles north of Dallas in Lewisville at Lake Park Campground.

Sandy Lake RV Park is just west of Sandy Lake Amusement Park..I-35E and Sandy Lake in Carrollton, but it's often full. There are also some parks west of I-35 near Denton and one in Gainesville just south of California and half a blockeast of I-35.
