Can anyone help us? Everytime we hit rain the windshield fogs so badly the coach
is undrivable. We wipe them down, the defroster is on (does not help). Seems the
only thing that improves the condition is to turn the airconditioners on all
around to a popcicle temperature and freeze but hey the windshield is clear. I
cant believe they made the coach to run this way, it must be some settings that
we are overlooking. Anyone experience this and find out how to correct it? It is
just so annoying and time consuming.

Is your dash air working? The a/c is used with the defroster so if its not working, the defrost won't work as well in humid conditions.

I have found that when we are in really
humid weather I have to open the fresh air to the heater to help the defrosters
prevent fogging. There is also a possibility that you have a leak in the
heater core. This will cause severe fogging.

It is not just the windshield it is the entire coach, all windows become so wet they soak the frames at the bottoms. Does this still sound like a heater core leak? How can i tell the difference? Is the fresh air the vents?

Markus is asking you the right question. My understanding is that the defrost/defog setting should activate the dash a/c compressor to de-humidify the air.

I don't believe that's physically possible on my coach, and I would be surprised
if it were possible on other older coaches.

The "dash air" isn't dash here. It is overhead. The defrosters come from the
dash heaters. There is no connection between the two.

My defrosters do work fairly well.

This is an '88 PT and the controls for the dash air and defrost is separate
systems I believe. The common AC/Heat control was not introduced until the
'90's Coach's. But I could be mistaken on this point.

So warm air inside, glass (inside) cold equals moisture on the inside glass
and fog. So if the glass (inside) is warmer than the cold out side, the
moisture forms on the out side. I have not thought about this since high
school. lol

Is the defrost switch on the lower dash with a front heat on/off switch? I
know the defrost in my FC barely stems the tide of fog on the drivers side,
and not very good until the inside of the windshield warms up. I have
helped it out by switching on the Coach air, fan only, on the overhead to
assist the air moving.

The dash air works great. It freezes us. The defrost is warm air. We have turned on the vents, didn't make a change. We have turned on the dash air, blows great and is cold. we have done various combinations but nothing seems to work except the dehumidifyng use of the AC units that freeze us to death. The best thing we tried is using rainex antifog. But just doesn't seem this should be the fix.

when I say dash air I just mean not rooftop. the defrosters do work but only in the center where the metal frame area, not out at the edges. So we cant see in the mirrors or right in front of us. There is no adjusting any directional flow. It just comes out where it comes out. But it doesnt seem to come out all the way across the vent. Mostly comes out drivers right and passengers mid to left. There is nothing blocking any air movement that we can see. Should we use a combination of ac from above the window plus the defroster? We had both on earlier and seemed to make the situation worse than with just the defroster.

PS it is not humiddue to beingin Florida. We are in Tennessee at present driving in a freezing cold rain.

When our coach gets saturated with humidity we hook up to 50 amps and run the
air conditioners and the heat together for however long it takes, a couple hours
at least, better yet on and off for a day or two. The excess coach humidity
runs out the AC condensation drains and you are done with if for a while.

A leaking heater core usually makes itself known because the coach starts to
smell like a radiator.
