I'd like to get the Rear Parking Lights to work. Haven't bothered with this project until this evening. I've checked all the Schematics that I have, the WanderlodgeForum Schematics, same for WOG. I'm coming up blank...did not find the Rear Parking Lights. Might be my old eyes. Anyone know which Schematic shows the Rear Parking Lights for the '87 (or earlier) PT? Thanks!

Checking my drawings, I find figure 10-9 12 volt diagram, left rear load center
PT40- might be the circuit breakers you might need.

Hello Curt,

Before you start your witch hunt you might try something that I only discovered
about the rear parking light after owning my bus for 3 years. I thought mine
were not working also. I discovered that the rear parking lights only work when
I have the switch on and the bus in reverse. (It was quite a job running down
the road and catching the bus after I went out to inspect the lights.)

Eric, I thought about doing what you did. I won't try that now that you provided clarification...running after the coach. My neighbors would get a good laugh.

Curt, not sure with the setup on your bus. it sounds like Eric has the switch I
have on my dash in the 94. there is a switch near the left and right docking
lights labeled 'rear parking lights? or something like that' It sounds like the
switch is set up to turn the lights off when you reverse. I too was unable to
que the switch to turn them on. It sound like the switch works the same way a
back up alarm switch works. On many trucks there is a back up alarm switch that
will disable the reversing alarm for use in close residential areas.
It could be that the backup alarm relay and lights are the same and the dash
switch disables both??? I would look for the reverse switch on the Allison and
trace to the alarm and light relays. and understand that these may be PO
modified or BB confused

I recently backed up over a BMW with my dump truck in a residential area (Canyon
Lake) while trying to dock with my equipment trailer. The fact that I had no
reversing lights or alarm enabled made no difference. The BMW driver pointed
that out to the patrolman. I confirmed that I turn both tools off on the dash
so I can hear screams and horns. I always use the old airhorn toot method prior
to a back up. On construction sites backup alarms grab no attention ( like car
alarms in a parkinglot, a 'wolfcry'Wink I was surprised that I as found without
fault. If I knew that at the time I would have asked the BMW driver to fix my
truck tire. got headlight plastic in it, pintal hitch had sheetmetal scratches
also.

Interesting to note that the backup alarms are required on offroad construction
equipment. I think I will find the disable wire for the alarm and lights then
move it to only disable the backup alarm. In attempts to be prompt I often make
my way to jobsites prior to city ordinance start time. Totally legal to arrive
onsite early but the backup alarm often prompts complains from sleeping
neighbors. I can see a need also to disable the backup alarm on a bus when you
try to leave early.

they tow BMW's from the front!! I always thought euro's required a flat bed.

When we exchanged info I tried to lighten the mood by asking him how to spell
BMW. unfortunately he quickly answered and the gathering crowds reaction
worsened his mood. When the patrolman and tow truck left him stranded, I
offered to drive the owner home but he declined with much commentary. hope he
didn't have far to walk.
