I am desperate for any info I can get on repairing/replacing the
blower motor in the Intertherm a/c unit on my '90WL.
The fan runs for about 10-15 minutes then slows down and stalls.
If I let it sit for 5 - 6 minutes it will run again for 10-15 min's.
When it first runs it runs at top speed and the drop off to 0 rpm
takes about 30 sec's. Same result with a/c on or fan only.
Has anyone out there had this same experience? If so can someone
tell me how big a job it is to replace/repair the motor and how much
disassembly is required to access it?
I'm not familiar with that particular unit, but I can say it sounds
like lack of lubrication to the bearings. You might check to see if
they have a lube port. If not, you will probably have to replace
the motor, or have it rebuilt.

My knowledge in minimal but I have one Intertherm left on my 89SP but
the outside cover is starting to come apart.
If you remove the cover you will find an access cover that will allow
you to lubricate the unit and, as I recall, the blower. Do you have a
copy of the literature that came with the unit? If not, let me know
and I will see what I have.

That is correct, 2 Phillips on back and side, 3 on the front. The
inside cover has 2 but they may not be Phillips so take a straight one
on your first trip up. Be gentle with the cover, they get brittle over
the years.

-FRED: you are in luck...I just removed, had rewound and replaced
my blower motor on my 90SO. removal is a piece of cake and I am
just your average spark plug /oil changing guy. I looked all over
for the blower motor in vegas but it was special and too old..had it
rewound for $100. a bit high but what the heck..better than a new
ac unit built in China!!! I did not have any trouble replacing
the motor...it is on top after you take off some covers and remove
left and righ blower fans with a long alen wrench. the motor wires
are color coded but I taped numbers and colors in case I forgot.
from what I heard from rv ac guy, the intertherm is a great unit
compared to the new ones that do not last as long. let me know if
you have any specific questions.

Fred: one more thing..RON was right..had I oiled my blower motor
each year, I would have avoided the problemm..you may not be too
late..try oiling each unit's motor..very easy..have to use oild from
walmart in pain accessories section..only $2 and has long spout
making oiling easier..forgot name of it but it is in
cooling/accessories section at wally'smart next to copper tubing
etc.. the long thin spout pulls out at least a foot so you oil the
motors without taking off all the covers...i just flew to chicago
otherwise I could tell you the name of the stuff!!! make sure you
oil the other unit also!!!!! put a ton of oil in them!!!
