We are having trouble with the water fill switch. I have the water hooked to our
coach and i came home the other day and the water was running out of the
overflow. The switch was on off and still filling the coach. I turned the water
off and now the pump in the coach will not pump water out of the holding tank.
Hope someone can tell how to fix this problem.

If like our '87 PT38, the Fill Switch operates a Sporlan Valve. That valve needs to be cleaned or rebuilt. Most likely a careful cleaning will do it. Many of us have taken the valve apart and cleaned the diaphragm. The Sprolan Valve in our coach is located under the curb side of the bed box close to the water pump.

Turn off all water workings...use a small rag to stuff into the hole in the valve when removing the electromagnet. Carefully remove and clean the diaphragm. Re-assemble the parts in the same order as removed.

Try cleaning the Sporlan Valve...and install a Sporlan Kit if you have one.

Cleaning the Sporlan valve worked for us. But what is a Sporlan Kit?

Greg, the kit consists of o-rings, a new spring and plunger and
diaphragm. They are available form Steven Birtles at Dupree
products.

Sounds like your Sporlan valve has failed.

Your challenge will likely be to find your Sporlan Valve. I think BB must of
had a special department whose job it was to conceal the location of the
Sporland tank fill valve. They did a pretty good job on my bird. I finally
found it buried deep in the water pump area of my bus.

Eric, I believe you are correct in saying that the factory liked to hide items. Especially an item that either needs cleaning or rebuilding.
