Murphy has shown up and he brought a bag full of gremlins with him this time.

Dash air went out, got that fixed burnt wire on the resistor.

Selector switch for the water pumps is acting up, Anyone know where to get one
of these, it's a bit odd, all the connections are soldered on.

The Kenwood speakers finally blew out, I like it loud when I'm driving, I
ordered a pair of Infinity Reference 9623i 6x9 speakers.

The electroluminescent dash went out a few weeks ago. I have tested the
connections the headlight switch which powers the dimmer for the EL, checked the
dimmer and installed new inverters. I was told that there is an in-line 5 amp
fuse ,but If there is one I can't find it. Still no blue lights it's a ground
problem, I think, any ideas?

Today I went out and fired up the coach for a little outing and she won't air
up, I moved her out of the barn 2 days ago and She did something I've never
heard before a loud series of thumping sounds before it fired up, I thought it
was the starter, It's not, I started her from the rear key position and the
thumping is coming from the area of the air compressor. it did it several times,
now 2 days latter it won't do it, she fires up normally. Today she started
normally, started to air up normally, then it just quite and now she won't air
up at all, Brakes are fully charged but the suspension will not air up. At high
idle no low air alarm, let her idle normally and the alarm goes off, I started
the auxiliary air compressor and listened for air leaks, I can't find any, but
then again I can't hear all that well, could be from listening to the stereo at
full blast . So obviously there is a problem. Any ideas on how to trouble shoot
these gremlins????

maybe it only seems like a coincidence that the speakers blew and the alarm
sounded. I blew my speakers and Tim started to comment on my driving. fixed the
speakers and he stopped.

the compressor is gear driven, check the sump? Check the bolt torque on the
compressor also.the fuel pump I think stacks off of the compressor????

It may be that you passed some of your airfilter thru the compressor???? I
would look at the airfilter and the output of the compressor. if it starved for
air there is usualy oil sucked thru the valve seats of the compressor that ended
up in the output line.

On my 94 the inverter is the size of a brick there are two unitd in the bay with
the genset fan. the dimmer I believe gates 12 volts to the inverter not from
the inverter. you can test for voltage at the dimmer and after the dimmer. I
have run the el light with 120 volts inplace of the inverter to test the el
lights. after the inverter I believe you end up with 120 volts and major htz
but i am not sure.

Kurt, your speaker blowing out may be due
to having a bad amp/loose power connection on your amp/or not having a large
enough or clean enough amp. If you are running your speakers off of the tiny,
"I.C. chip" amp built into your radio/deck, and not using an external,
"discreet" amplifier, it will blow speakers regularly, and most importantly,
not sound anywhere nearly as good as it could with an external amp. There are
some full explanations of these issues on my website: www.subsolutions.com under the "audio
basics" and the "self install" sections, including this excerpt:

….Most
speakers will handle more power than you think. What they can't handle is
distortion. Distortion is what an amplifier puts out when it isn't big enough
to play as loud as you would like it to. It's that extra, fuzzy sound over the
top of your music when you reach the limit. All amplifiers distort when you
turn them up past their maximum output limit. Your amp tries to amplify the
small signal from your deck without altering its smooth shape. Your amp has a
"voltage rail" limit of how big it can do that before it chops off
the top and bottom of the sine wave, causing distortion-which will damage your
speakers.

To summarize, if your stereo is not loud enough, or if you've blown a speaker
from distortion (which isn't covered under any warranty) and had to get another
one, buy a bigger amp….

So check these before you hook up
your new speakers. `Important to understand, you can use the best speakers in
the world, and they'll still blow from distortion (inversely, you can use
fairly inexpensive speakers and achieve quite high performance, using a "clean"
(low distortion) amp).

Thanks Fred,

The surround on the speakers just turned to dust, with a few pieces hanging on
hear and there, created quite a mess when I took the grills off, the system has
a Kenwood 75W amp. that should handle these speakers. Looked at the web site
very nice, I would invest in a better stereo system but with my failing hearing
it's probably a waste of $'s at this point. Thanks for the info.
