In message #2583 Jeff Miller mentioned that parts are no longer
available for the Intertherm and that shrouds should be salvaged from
failed units.
The Intertherm on my 89SP works fine but the shroud is coming apart.
I am about to strap it together with 100 MPH duct tape but what do I
do for a replacement shroud?
Someone posted a while ago that they were able to get a universal
shroud to work, don't know who or from where, hopefully will read this
and re-post.

Fred,
I made an AC shroud for our '74 bird when one AC cover went south. The
AC was original and worked great....I could not see replacing a good
unit. I made the cover of aluminum...it had no rounded corners but did
have angles...and looked fine. The home made cover wasn't the prettiest
but it was cheap...cost me about $30.00...I have the tools to make it. I
called a tin shop and they would make a cover for around $240.00. You
might check in your area.

Fred, I am replacing my condensor with a bolt on unit, so the shroud
I took off is available. My coach is a 85FC, and I am not sure that
they are the same...look at photo gallery in 85FC33 at my bird, and
let me know if they are. My recollection is that the later models
were "more square". You can send me your e-mail and I will send you
some detailed photos and measurements.

curt,can you even see the differance from the ground? the sheep fence helps

II believe if I had a shroud that was falling apart and a replacement was
not available I would remove it, fiberglass the inside and then a skim
coat to the outside and paint it. Has anyone tried it? I had the same
problem with my chassis A/C condensor which is mounted on the roof of older
Bluebirds. I made a pattern from the old shroud and made it out of
galvanized 14GA metal. Primed it with acid etching primer and painted it.
Cant tell the difference between the old or the new except the new has no
dents and bangs.

Resin on a test area that I had scuffed well. The resin did not
adhere to the shroud. Is it possible that the resin will not adhere
