My fresh water pump has been intermitently, continuously running.

1.)Pump fuctions and cycles properly.
2.)Start bus and prepare for a drive.
3.)water pump is running continuously
4.)shut of pump switch
5.)go for a drive
6.)shut off detroit engine
7.)turn on water pump, functions correctly

sounds like the fresh water fill sporlan valve.

8.)by squeezing the line coming out of the pump with thumb and fore finger, pump
cycles off properly.

there are NO water leaks

9.)while systems are functioning properly, Cycled fresh water fill switch a few
times all works normally, can hear function of sporlan valve oprting as it is
supposed to.

if its the sporlan valve, why does it intermittently work correctly?

How, exactly, does that valve work? when you set the tank fill switch to on, the
water pump runs continuously if the water pump switch is on-normal opertion.

Am I introducing 12V power to the magnetic field, in-turn opening the valve?
When the switch is off, id there no longer 12V to the nagnetic valve?

I can figure it out tomorrow.... just curious cuz I know this is not the first
time this has happened.

Ralph / Randy, can you provide an explanation of the opertion of the fresh water
fill system operation?

Thanks everybody!

you could prove your hyp. with a volt meter on the solenoid.
here is a good video on the operation of a diaphram valve.

You can see why the never crap out of fulltimers, the diaphram has pressure
behind more often and the seat is closed. when you unhook and deenergize the
plumbing, the diaphram has no pressure to push it closed and the seat floats
open where scum builds on the rubber from the pitina of the metal sporlan.
