What is the amperage of the socket you are connecting to? Long extension cord?

I recently purchased an 86 38' BB from Scott Forman. He told me about this forum.  The coach has developed a problem in the electrical system. Everytime I try to plug it in to an outlet it throws a breaker at my house. The problem is not at my house. Also, I'd like to find someone that knows Bluebirds to do maintenance on mine. Thanks. Randy Akers |

You could try Blaekley(sp) in Unidilla, if that's close.
They were BB dealer and they still have some used birds there, as
well as some of the old factory people. They also have one of the
first birds built.

You might try to first shut down the water heater breaker and the charger
circuit breaker in the bus prior to plugging it in. They probably come on right
away and may be too much of a draw for your setup. If that doesnt work shut the
entire panel off then plug it in. if it pops then your transfer switch or plug
wires may be where the prob is. you may also try using a source that is not on
a gfi from the house. if it energizes with a non gfi, could prove a ground fault
or improper bonding. Remember the bus electrical box "is not" where the neutral
and ground bond. Ground bonding is done at the house. the bus is treated just
like a big appliance.
Turn it in under warranty, if the condition is contrary to the statement of
condition.
You can find a slew of hints to recent work on your bus here, just search
Forman. recent work is the biggest clue to a repair
