The valve stem on my inside dualie is not accessible by most tire
inflators at gas stations or truck stops. I have done some research
and have found several options to extend the valve stem so it can be
reached by a regular inflator. What is the risk of leaving the
extender on permanently vs. just using the extender to inflate the
tire? Also if I leave the extender on, does anyone have experience
with the rubber inserts that hold extenders in the round hole in the
wheel?

Blowouts and leaks..........
Crossfire employs a safety feature that automatically isolates
the "good" tire in the event of a blowout. When a blowout occurs, the
internal safety valve closes immediately with only a slight loss of
pressure to the "good" tire. In slow leak situations, the valve
isolates both tires after a pressure drop of approximately 10 P.S.I.

Hi Steve,
I could never reach the inside dual either. The crossfire system seems
to be the way to go (as others have said before me) You purchase a
unit with a pre-set pressure calibration for around $60 each. If you
avoid one blowout, its paid for itself many times over. The small
rubber inserts in each valve adapter seem to be leak free. I have not
had to add any air since installing them 9 months ago.

Steve,
I use an extender and the rubber insert for stabilizing it in the
wheel. I also added the Double Seal caps to make checking pressures
faster and easier. I have had no problems so far.

Got the furnace motor, should be working today?
I use the valve extenders that make it just to the inside edge of the
outer wheel, and be sure they have a hex on each end so you can tighten
with a wrench, leave them there. Good ones work perfectly.
The rubber plug is also nice, Alcoa makes some, you will need slightly
longer extenders then.

The longer the extention the more centrifical force and wiggle,
which could possibly lead to valve stem or seal fatigue.
For now no extenders, Just a screw on cap with the ability to check
the air pressure. I use a straight shank air chuck and a straight
air pressure gage. But you do need to bend over and peak into that
hole in the rim for the inner dual. With extenders, the stem could
possibly be about eight or more inches long. I have no experience
with the black plug that looks like a hocky puck.
