Man..... It's getting hot already.... And there is nothing better to
take your mind off the Texas summer heat than floating on an inner toob
down the cool waters of the Guadalupe river ! We've had several folks
get together on the river the last 2 years...... and folks are sweating
to do it again. So here's the plan:

Date: August 5 - 7 th 2005
Location: Lazy L & L Campground (Canyon Lake, Texas)
Services: Full hook ups w/ 50 amps, 6 pull-thrus, 11 back-ins are on
"hold" (Only until June 30th).
Rate: $28.00 per night (with the plan to stay Friday night to Sunday
morning, 2-nights).
Phone number: 830-964-3455 I know it's busy a lot, keep trying!.
http://www.guadaluperivertoobing.com/

Because this is in the peak of their toobing season ..... you really
need to call and make your reservations right away (830-964-3455) and
mention "Lone star Birds". We were able to block just 17 sites. However,
they will begin to fill these with their regular customers if you don't
book by June 30th. so call right away if you want to join us in making a
big splash on the river.

In the past this event has mainly been a "bring your own chow and drinks"
event. A large propane grill will be provided. A small concession stand
is available at the park, however their hours may fluctuate based upon
business.

Rafts and tube rentals, as well as return transportation are also
available at an additional fee (reasonable) however you can bring your
own.

Very important notes:
- Although their brochure indicates "no pets" we have obtained special
approval from the manager to allow our pets on-site, HOWEVER, they must
stay
in your coach except to potty.... When outside they must stay on your
site only (no walking up and down the camp) and then go right back in the
coach. I know this is not fun. I too have a dog. But it's this or "NO
Dogs". You could consider driving up the road to take Fido for a walk.
And of course all doo-doo is to be cleaned up. Sorry... But none of the
campgrounds along the river allow dogs.
- I suggest all big rig traffic take exit 191 (route 306) off of I-35 even
if you are coming from the South or the East.
- This exit off of I-35 is also the same one for Campers' World, and they
are also open Sundays.

So let's go plop our butts in the water and float down the river.......
Aahhhhhhh.................. You'll have a ducky time.

SEE ATTACHED INFO SHEET .

If anyone is getting frustrated in trying to get through on the telephone
line to the Lazy L& L campground to make your reservation for the August
Lone Star Birds Rally you might want to give this a try. If you call
after hours ( 830-964-3455) and leave your information on their answering
machine they will make your reservation and call you back the next day.
Remember after June 30th they will release the hold on the sites being
held for us. If you have no idea what this is about, and would like to
join some Texas Birders toobing down the Guadalupe River ( Central Texas )
then send me a note at airwolf.3@... and I'll send you more
information.
