I'm currently traveling through Rapid City, SD and my leveling jacks

David,
If you still have a problem, after you check your fluid level in the
reservoir and it is full, with the levelers fully in the UP position,
as has been suggested, then consult the web page of the manufacturer
HWH Corporation and look to see if there is any information about
diagnosing problems with your leveling system, go to;

If that doesn't help, give HWH a call on their toll free number (800)
321-3494 they are excellent at diagnosing problems. I will be there in
July to have mine completely rebuilt, as a previous owner had put the
wrong fluid in the reservoir and it looks like jello and the levelers
will not extend, or retract.

The HWH site is the place to go for troubleshooting details. But
by "not extending" do you mean that...1: you get the electric relay
clicking noises, but the pump motor does not run; 2: is it that
everything sounds normal (relay clicks, pump running) and the "feet"
just do not come down? If it is #2, then the prior suggestions for a
fluid check are the ticket. If your situation is more of #1: then you
may have an electrical problem. You need to check power to the unit and
the unit ground. On my coach I have gone thru two failures....first
was a simple bad ground. The motor housing itself on mine grounds to
the frame...the bolts had loosened up and all that was needed was to
clean the area of contact and tighten up bolts. About 6mos later, the
relay solonoid failed...replaced with a unit from west marine that
should go another 20 years. The key here is on the prior failure (bad
ground) i heard all the right "clicks" just nothing happened (pump
motor not run). The second relay failure showed itself by trying to
use jacks, and hearing no relay clicks...

If the pump doesn't run, in addition to Frank's suggestions you can
check the motor solenoid (mounted on the motor) by shorting across
the large lugs to make the motor run, the solenoid is a cheap and
common failure item.
The solenoid gets its power from a microswitch on the top of the
leveler valve-body, a wire "basket handle" operates the switch when
any of the levers are moved into the extend position, this mechanism
can also be your problem (or the wires to the microswitch which can
be seen from below (battery bay).

This probably has already been said but, first check all the wires
under the step, most likely there is a ground problem. You can go on
the HWH website to trouble shooting area and download a pdf file for
your jacks and it will go thru the whole process of checking it out.
I have 85 pt 40 with auto level so it probably is different? There is
a fuse/relay board that may have a replacable fuse check there, I had
a bad fuse board. The guys at HWH will help also with
troubleshooting it, they sure helped me out when mine wouldn't work
properly.
