Bob,
BB used several different models of toe heaters.
You may need to take it apart and find the manufacturer and Model#

Over head panel left side, A/C switches, turn the front one on,
go to the over head
AC turn that to off, now turn the heater on, your good to go.

Radio Shack carries a variety of knobs, etc. Â -- you may find an acceptable one for that device.

Last year I thought I needed a new switch/thermostat for the Martin heater
below the
couch in our 83 FC. The heater was not functioning properly if would run for
just a short
time and turn off.
When I heard it was about $80 at Grainger I looked a little deeper. Another
forum
member reported there is an allan screw that adjusts the thermostat setting on
this. Sure
enough, after playing around with it a lttleI found the correct position and so
far, so
good.

I went to acehardwareoutlet.com.
They have an updated heater and thermostat for $170.
I replace all three of my toe heaters with these.
They are smaller and quieter.
The thermostat is available of about $28 bucks.
