Hi everyone: Does anyone have a schematic of the dash heat plumbing
for an early 90's coach. Mine has only 2 manual valves at the engine.

Ron,

When I had our '90 PT40 there was an additional valve under the curb
side front bumper. This was controlled by the slider control to the
right of the drivers knee. It was a Mercedes Benz part and I had to
change mine out. I beleive there was a schematic in the blue box - Don
Bradner (Blue Thunder) may still have it.

Unfortunately the Blue Box is gone - Jerry Owen says it was there when he traded
in at Holland/San Diego and the next owner says he didn't get it from Holland
(didn't know to ask for it). Only the binder and whatever receipts were in it
(all after Rich's ownership) survived.

That valve is a Bosch item. picture here:

I removed it and tested when I was having heater issues, but it was not the
problem; a dropped gate valve in the back was.

Rich, two other 90 PT40s at the RATS rally did not have the Sporlan valve in the
heater plumbing at the back, while Blue Thunder does. Is that something you did?

How did you remedy the gate valve. There is not sufficient room for
me to pull mine out, but I can remove the guts to the valve. I would
have to pull the water pump to change mine and I really don't want to
do that.

That one under the water pump was the problem for me. There were two identical
valves higher up that I replaced with ball valves, and their guts were OK, so I
replaced the guts of the bad one with one of those. I don't know how easy it
would be to find one to buy.

Why do they take it out? Makes me want to take them to the slapping
room! When I bought that coach, one year old, the box was gone.
Since this was before internet, it took me almost 3 months of
writing and calling various manufacturers but I duplicated
everything that originally came in the box and bought blueprints
from Blue Bird along with owners and parts manuals.

No, I didn't add that. The only thing I changed in the engine
compartment was to replace the original (no longer available) vent
blower to exhaust engine heat after parking. I made a duct the size
of the original blower and powered it with a flex duct and a bilge
blower.

Ron, Both my 82 6V and my 89 8V had four valves in the front heat
system. There are two upper valves and a lower valve on each side of
the engine. On the 8V one of the lower valves was nearly inmpossible
to see. Are you sure that there is not a valve that you have not
