Has anyone converted at twin bed set up to a queen?
Looking at a local coach that has twins and would like to have a queen
bed instead.

Any things to watch out for?

Thanks
John

Many years ago, I had an 85pt changed from twin to queen. Lost a closet on the starboard side and gained bedside table on both sides. Water tank under queen and no trouble that I recall. Was fairly expensive even for early 90's. Good result in the final analysis.

Thanks for the replies,
did some searching and did find other post about this.
looks like the most practical way to do this is bridge the gap in the middle and slide the beds together or replace with queen mattress.
I like simple, and it could be put back to original easily.
Thanks
John

John:
By bridging the middle, you get a ton of storage underneath in the
middle also.. My 81FC31 was set up that way; also simple to return to
Twins if so needed.

Careful, you may run into other issues. I've been debating this very
thing since I bought my coach. There are heaters in the center aisle
that would be covered by the bed. Probably not a huge deal if you
leave the end of the aisle open for the heat to escape, but if you
want to store things under it, you'll have to disable or relocate
those heaters. Disabling will keep you cold at night and relocation
makes it difficult to convert back to twins.

If I were to shift everything to one side, I'd lose the aircraft-style
storage space above one of the beds and a huge dresser at the foot of
it and it would be a complete remodel, moving the water tank, the
whole deal. Not an option as I'm not willing to give up that space.
So, I'm going to wind up bridging the gap and re-locating the heaters
one of these days. The negative is I'll have to crawl into bed from
the foot of the bed, rather than enter from the side, and I'll lose a
good bit of aisle space that's quite useful for dressing, etc. Any
time I want to access the storage space back there I'll have to crawl
across the bed to do it instead of standing in the aisle as I do now.
I'm still young, so no problems, but still a bit of a hassle. The
positive side is I'll be able to install a king sized bed back there,
which will be very nice.

My honest suggestion is to wait to buy until you find a coach with the
configuration you want. It will be a lot less hassle and you'll
probably be happier. I don't regret my purchase - I intentionally
compromised on the twin beds because the coach had double couches up
front and cruise-airs underneath, a combination that I found on only
two coaches anywhere near my price range after a year of searching. I
let the bed deal slide to get those features. I'm happy I did it, but
rearranging the bedroom will bring still more compromises...
