Seems to work fine so far. Got it on eBay cheap. Kit contains a 7"
LCD screen, color IR camera w/ transmitter, and wireless receiver.

My bus has a piece of smoked plastic that covered the screen of the
original CRT that was mounted behind the bulkhead. With the CRT unit
removed (it is big and heavy), the new LCD panel lays perfectly
against the back of the smoked plastic window. One adhesive strip in
each corner and it is mounted, and it looks factory.

The wiring is very easy to hook up,and I was able to use the original
wiring so that the unit still turns on and off with the stock camera
switch on the bulkhead. The wireless receiver is in the compartment
above the driver's seat.

For the camera, I removed the original camera and wired the new
camera to the original power and ground wires. Then I took off the
panel with the little window in it that the original camera looks
through (comes off from outside). I then removed the plexiglass
window and used a Dremel to enlarge the hole just slightly (the panel
is made of fiberglass) so that the new camera would fit in the hole.
Doing this eliminates the problem of the IR reflecting off the little
window at night. After a little experimentation to find the view I
liked from the camera, I secured it to the fiberglass panel with some
epoxy and sealed up around the edges to make it water-tight.

System works great so far. I will admit that I am worried about how
long it might last since this is eBay stuff fom China rather than a
name brand unit from a store. But, since those go for two and three
times what I paid for this set-up, I figure it is worth a shot. I
can buy a lot of cheap replacement cameras before I get to the price
of a "good" system. I put an eBay camera in my old FC, and it never
gave me any trouble.

So, anyway, if you are considering upgrading your camera system,
think about this option. It beats the hell out of running wire all
the way up from the back.

Digging up old messages here. Scott, do you have any specifics on the
model of camera and monitor you installed? Is it still working fine? I'm
guessing if it works ok, then you did not have to do anything to boost
signal from the camera. Just worried about the 35 foot distance from
camera to monitor.

Thanks for the help!
