If the replacement is a Bailey suitable for tanks (an Abrams is ~65
tons) then you ought to be able to take your 21 ton Bird back to the
island in a few weeks. What is proposed for the residents while the
temporary bridge is constructed, and after?
My topo doesn't give very detailed contour lines, are the homes on the
islands threatened by the flooding?
