I'm getting serious about the seats in the Napper. We've talked
about air seats and such some in the past and it was mentioned that
there are spring or torsion spring pedestals out there. Can anyone
direct me to a web site or provide information about seating options.
I have pretty nice seats but would like to up grade the pedestals to
air or springs to just improve the ride quality. I talked to suburban
seating and I might take a drive to Lodi NJ to look but I would
appreciate any suggestions, opinions, or whatever related to
replacing these seats or pedestals. Tell me what you know so that I
have as much information so I can make a reasonable sensible
decision. This can cost a couple hundred bucks up to as much as
several grand. I am willing to spend what is needed but I also don't
want to waste a bunch just to get a small improvement. Open to any
and all suggestions.

If at all possible I would make the effort to ride in one of the air
seats you are
considering. Way back in the 80's I owned some Dodge heavy duty LCF
trucks

and I spent the money for expensive Bostrom air seats and was hugely
disappointed
in the performance for the money and effort expended fwiw

I had a Recaro in the Newell and it was terribly uncomfortable, too. This ISRI in my BB is the most comfortable seat I've had.

The loose Spanish translation for Recaro is.."Wow, that's pricey."

Keep it coming guys that's what I am looking for. Opinions. Suburban
has the ISRI seats and they said they were their top of the line.
They are far from inexpensive, haven't priced the recaro's. John

you can go to a big truck junk yard and buy the pedestal way cheep.
Volvo has some good ones. the big truck peds have a forward and back
float that you can lock out. the float helps with the jarring from
shift movement.

When you remount the seat and ped it should be as secure as the seat
belt. If the seat came loose in a front end wreck, the drivers weight
and the weight of the seat may do some harm when the driver gets
caught under the belt.
