If you are coming up IH-10 from the San Antonio direction to get to
the LSB Rally in Boerne this weekend, be advised there is heavy road
construction north of 1604 past The Rim shopping center, so slow down.
There is 3 miles of fairly narrow lanes, no shoulders, and concrete
barricades right up on the outside lines (with tire marks on them).
It is usually backed up about 1-3 miles during the daytime hours. One
option is to get off in front of The Rim shopping center at the "Camp
Bullis Rd" exit and continue up the access road in the far right lane.
You can get back on IH-10 once past the construction, or you can just
stay on the access road for about another 4-5 miles until you reach
the RV park. Gives your diesel plenty of time to cool down. Just FYI,
the HEB under the underpass across the highway from Rudy's BBQ has
diesel for $3.999 as of this morning. Easy in and out, go to the far
pump entrance from the access road. My Bird fits in there fine.
