Are you sure the deadbolt is retracted all the way? Push on the door while turning (unlocking) the deadbolt...it might just not be retracted completely. Same thing happened to me a few years ago, and all it ended up just being the deadbolt. Just a thought....

Hi,

Just got back to Ohio from Fl and put the coach in storage.
Went back yesterday to get a few items needed and to our
surprise the door hanle just flopped horizontialy (r to l ).
Of course the coach is locked. What to do ? Windows all locked.
Break-in ? Locksmith ? I know this was just posted, but I never heard
the results.
Have a Great Day & Keep'n Rolling !

Hi Gene,

Mike McMahan had that same problem a while back. The results of the
entry method were not posted because this is an internet site and Mike
didn't didn't think it was wise to post so anyone reading would know
how to break into a Wanderlodge. As a fellow owner, I think I agree.
I'll send you an email offline with contact info.

Gene,

I don't think any thieves would not know that most doors can be 'jimmied.' The exact same thing happened to my deadbolt latch. It was broken and the handle simply turned. It took several scrapes on the deadbolt but they finally got it retracted enough to open the door. I ordered a replacement deadbolt from BB because it needed to be long enough. It was actually adjustable...cost about$35 from BB. The only problem was the crankshaft was too short. I used the old crankshaft and the new deadbolt. The key to avoid breakage is to keep the deadbolt well lubed so it retracts easily. If you slam the door with the deadbolt sticking out it can weaken and break it.
