Dave

OK guys, help me escape my mother-in-laws in New Jersey!
I started having generator troubles last night, it was losing rpm's
and surging, finally would not run at all and would not restart. It
felt like a fuel issue to me, I drained the on engine filter, all the
fuel that came out looked clean but I went ahead and changed the
filter anyway, still no go. It has an electric boost pump, and it
does not appear to be functioning right from what I can tell. I have
the pump off the generator. When I give it 12 volts from the battery,
it will bump but not continue to run. Strangely enough, if I turn it
upside down and give it power it will run 10-15 seconds and pumps
strong before it cuts off. I have taken the bottom off the pump
housing and taken everything out I can see, a couple of springs, ball
plungers and 2 o rings, everything looks ok that I can get to. It is
a Facet pump, no part or model numbers on the pump and the local NAPA
store here did not have one. Any more ideas or wait til Monday and
see what the Onan place in Newark can do for me? We can travel
without the genny, but it would be nice to have.

I don't have email access here so reply on the board or call me at
336-402-0943 if anyone has any ideas.

Hi Dave:

Most any 12vdc fuel pump will work so long as the meets or exceeds the
pressure delivery.
