Hi All,

Time to ask for your help again, there once was a post describing how to remove
the
Suburban furnaces. Does anyone know where I can find it in the message board? I
have a unit
I need to pull out and try to troubleshoot it, any help with troubleshooting the
unit would
also be greatly appreciated.

thanks

John,

I just removed two of my three due to inoperation (new word). My two problems
were dirt dauber and paper wasp nests, as well as dirty burners (rust scale).
Both of these were curb side. The front one I had to remove the couch by
removing the five mounting screws (forward ones next to the floor behind
co-pilot seat, rear ones (3) just under the removable cushion, angle iron
bracket). From there, I flipped the couch over to the other side, took the front
cover off the heater (flip clips), took the two screws out fastening the unit to
the floor, unclasped the power wire, unscrewed the gas line (TURN OFF PROPANE
SUPPLY), removed outside vent and out it came!

The rear heater, situated between the dining area and one of my side beds was
just a matter of snaking it through the maze of cabinetry. Had to remove a few
partitions, but much easier than the front.

My driver side furnace is another story. I had wasp nests in the vents, as
well. I raked them out and did my best to clean the burner through the
inspection hole. It works, but not quite as blue (flame) as the two removed.
Getting this one out of the coach? I'd like to find the post you are talking
about...

Taking them apart is the second chapter. A little mechanical inclination does
not hurt. I bought her last year and went one winter with a space heater due to
the amount of work my poor coach needed. It's nice to have these working!

Keep us posted, as I would like to hear your story. And good luck to you!

Look in "Links".
Go to RV Service Manuals and eventually find a link like this:

Hope it helps.
