Hi, all--

A question from Stew: He has examined all our electric heaters, and they're all
working just fine. Yet, when he turns on the detector at the main panel (I think
this is the big control panel behind the kitchen sink), an alarm goes off for
the center heater in the kitchen. Again, he's checked both the heater and the
wiring on the control panel and can't find a source of the problem.

His question: just exactly what is the panel sensing that causes the alarm to go
off, please?

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions you can offer!

Hi:

The sensor is dirty and being duped into sensing o2 or lp or hair spray
or,,or,,or... This is the lp sensor that is being read on the
panel. Open the center grill cover, the light grey/dark grey box on the
side is the sensor. Pull it out and blow the dust out of the round hole on
the front. Check to see if the sensor is still setting off an alarm and
repeat. There is also a variable potentiometer to set the sensitivity for
these sensors.

First though, be sure there is not an lp leak that caused the alarm.
