randy do you know where you can get parts for the electric dead bolt. I had
mine apart & lost the cam that went on the dead bolt where you installed the
wire from the solenoid.

I gotta tell ya, I love my bird. I've traveled all over and
always feel safe no matter where I park for the night.
This thing is literally the fortress of solitude.
I've only considered one problem and my extensive
"Blue Box" doesn't seem to address it and I've not seen
it come up in this forum.
I've got a remote lock for the entry door. I can
switch it from the driver's seat or the bedroom. It's
an electric solonoid operated lock cylinder.
So, where's the manual over-ride for this thing? What
happens when I can't get it to unlock? Sure, I can
get out, but how do I get back in? (grin)
I'll save my other security question (will a 9mm bullet
penetrate the skin) for another post. LOL

No, it doesn't. I guess I'm in the slow learner's group
on this one. ;o) I always lock the deadbolt and the remote lock
when I travel.
When I stop and try to open the door, I unlock the deadbolt,
but the door won't open until I go back up to the dash and
hit the "unlock" switch.
That's the cause of my concern.

Hi George,

The deadbolt should have a knob on the inside of the door (way down
low) and a home type key slot on the outside. You should physically
be able to see the knob move when you actuate the electric solenoid
on the deadbolt. If you can't see it and manually turn it, something
may be broken on the linkage. This deadbolt is the lower of the two
locks. The door release has its own lock that may have a push
down/pull up button like a car door. That one has nothing to do with
the electric deadbolt. Modifications may have been made to yours
and, as you state, it could be a dangerous situation if you are
unable to manually release the deadbolt.

we are now using silicone spray,its the best thing we have used so far.we get it
at walmart.$1.77 per can.you may have the old style air cyl's on your 91,what
color are the cyl's? we made black,then gold,and then in 1995 we went to
silver.the silver is the best. the others have too small of a bore,the new has a

Mine doesn't work from either switch. does anyone know where the
relay is located? Is the solenoid hard to get to? I guess I should
check it there first to see if I'm getting battery.
