Has anyone done a conversion on the Delco alternators on our coaches
to convert them from N Type to P Type by removing the internal
regulator and tri-diodes?
If so, how much effort was involded?
I am going to an external three stage Xantrex/Balmar (they are
basically the same unit) alternator regulator as we replace all our
batteries in the coach. Which will require the alternators be
converted to pull out the internal regulators and bring one of the
brushe outputs outside the alternator to act as the field to the
external regulator.
