Since purchasing last summer, the front LP furnace has not worked.
It would go through all the motions but would blow cold. So today I
finally decided I would find the problem.
I got out the air hose and started by blowing everything out. No
change. However, the front LP sensor has been false sensing, and the
air hose fixed that problem....progress.
Next I pulled the front off the furnace and unscrewed the furnace
from the floor. After closing the gas valve at the unit, I
disconnected the gas line. Then I pulled the unit forward and
rotated it up so I could take a close look at everything.
Observing no problems, I then pulled the igniter. And there was the
problem. A wasp built a mud nest across the electrode and shorted it
out. I cleaned it up, and put everything back together.
Now it works like it should....One less project.
