I'm a newby wanderlodge owner and need a little help. We have a 1984
PT40 and I'm slowly but surely learning it, however in reading the
manual it says to change the Purifiner filter every 12 months, but for
the life of me I can't find it. Can anyone give me a clue, I thought
I'd looked everywhere, but to no avail.

The chances are, you don't have one. I believe they were an option
back then, or the original owner took it off. That filter was a
bypass filter and is not necessary for operating your engine. It
could however be a benefit if you had it. It would be in the engine
compartment and probably attached to the frame.

Randy: They could mount it virtually anywhere there was room as
long as the filter was above the oil level in the pan. One to two
feet would be good, because it would drain well.

The purifiner on a 83 Pt is mounted on the right side ( looking from the back
) and sets at the end of the valve cover. Really makes it hard to add
oil.

I found room to install one in Ernies 83 PT40 and it was twice as
tall as a Purefiner. It went in on the passenger side and adjacent
to the muffler, which was vertical by the firewall.

By the way, I haven't found anywhere to install on my 92.
