I am in need of info on the AC wiring diagram of a 1992 WB40 as I am
preparing to replace the inverter. It currently has a Heart HF12-
2000U inverter and twin IOTA 45AMP battery chargers. I am looking to
replace them with a single Xantrex RS3000 Inverter/Charger.The issue
is that since the coach was designed for seperate inverter and
chargers, the wiring is not properly setup for this type
configuration.

I believe I will need to pull the wiring from the AC breaker box
50AMP breakers (which I believe should come stright from the transfer
switch) and route them to a new breaker box with two new 50 AMP
breakers. These breakers would be ahead of the inverter and feed
power from the power grid (shore or genny power) to the inverter
which would pass them to the AC output of the inverter (via a
transfer switch built inside the inverter). The output wires of the
inverter would then attach to the original 50AMP breakers in the
bedroom breaker panel.

I am trying to figure out how the BB wiring is currently setup as the
inverter seems to only power specific circuits in the coach when
there is no other shore power. For example; the AC's are not on the
inverter output circuit, and I believe the AC Florescents are also
not on that circuit. So is the breaker panel isolated in some manner
that allows this to occur, as there is no way that all three AC units
can be on one leg of the 110 as it would cause an over current.

I have not opened the breaker panel to look, but the only way I could
see that working would be that the breaker panel is broken into two
sections each driven by a transfer switch, OR, some other sensing
circuit that keeps the AC off when the inverter is running.

Michael,

I've got a full set for my 91 WB40 if that will help. I think they
are real close. Call the next time you swing by Pipe Creek to check
on your repairs and we can get together if you want to review them.
They may not be as much help as you think they will be. They are
mainly line drawings more than real schematics and not as useful as
the older 80 model schematics like I had with Stagecoach.

Mike,

Thanks for the offer, I finally found the missing bluebox today (it
was in the garage behind the trash bags of all places). So I was
able to look at my electrical diagram and figured this all out
finally.
