Full Version: Firstone tire 12R22.5 FS560

Hugh Turner

On my way home from picking up the bird I had a blow out on the Rt
front at the time it had 12R 22.5s on that were due a change due to
time. When I call looking for tires I was told that that the industry
standard now was 11R22.5. This tire cost me 495 plus another 200 plus
for road service to mount on my wheel(which the gouged as it was
upside down on the asphalt). If any one needs it I will let it go for
250.00 it only has about 50 miles on it. If you are here in Georgia we
can work out some place to meet,if not and going to Maxton or Rats
then you can pick it up there. I now carry a spare to avoid another
incident such as this.

I had a similar situation happen to me years ago. Didn't like getting
ripped by the tire *pigs*. So I started carrying a mounted spare. And
purchased an Ingersol-Rand 90# 3/4" impact wrench. Having the impact
wrench that works on 90# air-pressure allows it to work on Coach air.
This wrench will take off 7 lug nuts before having to start the bus
to build more air pressure. [unless it was put on too tight,then the
X-12 wrench would come in handy]
The best part about it...I haven't had to use that impact wrench,,
along side the road, since I purchased it.
Just good insurance I suppose.

>The tag has worn off my impact. I called Ingersoll Rand. The parts
man thinks I have an # 261. The one I have has a 4" Anvil, this
allows it to reach the lug nuts on an outside rear rim. The parts-guy
stated that all their impacts run on 90# air.
