Just now getting around to my anual de winterizing program and
hooking up my water line as usual, every thing was going great. Been
doing the same produre for many years (winterizing and dewinterizing)
with NO PROBLEMS till now. Had presure at all point of need (toilet,
wash bowel, shower, kitchen sink, etc.)from the city hook up...Went
out side to start filling the water tank (throwing the switch in the
hook up compentment area/ electric land line hook up area)...

Went on with my business and was walking around the rear of the coach
and noticed water leaking from the water heater area into the engine
area / down the the ground (nature's plumbing law)....Thus, I went to
the rear of the coach (inside) to the water heater area and there I
noticed a steady small pin hole type spray of water on the brass vale
(this looks to have means to devert city vs. water tank fill with,
looks like a air line to this unit. It also tees in to the water
heateralso. On the side of the unit where it is leaking, I am to the
opinion some exposy or JB Weld might be the trick vs. taking the unit
out and replacing it (last thing I want to do for finding the part
and trying to get the coach ready for next weekend outing). It seems
to be near a seem of the brass unit since screws are holding the cup
cover type unit to the main body) but 1/16" or 1/8" from the seem
with a pin type hole that I can hold my finger on it and it stops the
source of leak. Leak is there no matter what position I have the
switch in (City or Fill)---(Boy am I stong)!!! I gusess the winter
freeze might of got this or my real question is, "is this round tpye
hole it there by design and will I screw the unit up by pluging with
water expoy or JB Weld to stop the leak source???

What would your take be on this little unkown leak? I am having some
problems wondering that the leak is of a round type hole vs. a normal
hair line crack that would be noticed from a winter type freeze
problem (reason for my concern of plugging the leak source???) and
what would the the proper fix be? I just love it when Murhy greets
me on my time line!!!! WHY ME?

Where your water heater controls (mine are in a trap door on the side of
the bed frame) are you will find the air pressure switch. Cycle it a couple
of times and the leak should go off. I had the same problem a while ago.

Thanks for the reply...I'll try that and that seems to make sence since I notice
the air line conected to this unit...

I'll have to start the coach up and build up the air and cycle the air switch as
you mentioned....

I'll do this tomorrow after work and before I go pluging the round type
hole....I just feel the hole is there for a reason and the air switch just might
of been left in the wrong position from my winterizing procedure.

Mine has a threaded hole in the bottom of the valve. I am going to see if
it should have a plug. I have got the technical literature for the valve in
the coach and will check on it tomorrow. Maybe someone else knows.

Hi Greg:

The valve your describing is a three way valve and it's only purpose is to
introduce air into the system at the bottom of the water heater to blow out
the water lines and heater for winterizing. With the air off the shuttle (
spring loaded opposite end) closes and water is directed from the sporlan
to your freshwater tank or city water. The shuttle in the valve will stick
open with calcium or whatever in the seat and allow water to escape through
the pin hole that is supposed to allow the air to bleed off from the valve
when the air switch is closed.

There should be 4 screws holding the end cap on the valve, I have had to
remove the cap and with needle nose pliers, move the shuttle back and forth
to free it up. Some times this works, but I have had to remove the valve (
royal pain to get to) and take it apart, clean and lube the valve then re
install it. By using JB or something else, you will defeat the purpose of
the valve and not really gain anything because it wont hold long term and
may actually start introducing air into your water system from the Coach air.

Great help from you and various members of the group.....

I made sure no water pressure was on the check valve and proceeded with the
air activation (on and off cycle 3-4 times or so) after bringing the coach
above 80psi + as I normally do for the winterization and also cycle the hot
water tank air fill switch too. After putting the switch back to their
normal positions. I then hooked the water supply line (hose) up and bleed
all air in the water lines at their stations till solid water ran out
(toilet, sink, tube, & kitchen sink) & checked the 3 way valve and found no
leak on the air input side.....YEA!!! I then proceeded doing the water tank
fill up and started the pump (still using the old Par Pump that came with
the coach / till she gives out and then I get the current version to replace
it--but for now she still works).....I am now checking for all leaks and
filling the ice maker up (cycle) and I need to check the washer/dryer, but
that will have to wait for another day....I got to get to bed for work
starts early for me....

I very much thank you and various other member of the forum for the various
thoughts and idea of what to look out
for and some day I'll probaby need to repair or replace the 3 way valve
unit. I'll probaby be ok for now (this item is just for us winter boys). I
guess there got some type of dirt, etc. on the check valve and it didn't get
closed from the winterization and Murphy was waiting on me for the
suprise....

New member here, bought my first wanderlodge a few months back and

All the pipes go under there. Cold, water pump, and Hot. So take your pick..



Let me know if you need any help, I have been there, done that. I should be
able to help when you find out which one it is.-Or actually it could be
water running from somewhere else coming out under the fridge. (water
tank,ect)

Could be from lots of places. The water tank is under the streetside
bed, open those top panels and look around for your leak. Next remove
the drawer and pegboard under the sink, look at your water pump,
filter, plumbing. Might find it there. The panel under the 'Fridge is
only held on by two screws, probably the easiest place to start looking.

How much water? I don't know if the fridge has a drip pan or not,
but The lines run from the tank under the bed to the pump under the
sink. I would look there first. Many of people seem to be buying
buses from up north that have cracked pipe (not crack pipe) issues. I
don't know if that is the case here or not.. I HOPE NOT!!
