Hello Gang, I am a member of (3) Wanderlodge groups, and have had a
bouncing problem on and off for months now, as I was receiving emails
from all. I have just stopped individual emails from one group, as this
problem doesn't want to go away. I have spoke to Ernie about this a
month or so ago, and now do think that it is a problem with my isp,
(peoplepc.com), as a message posted showed me as "being over quota".
Are there any others on this forum having this same problem? Have any
of you used ( netzero ), ( copper.net ), or ( toast.net ) ? I have been
thinking of switching to one of these isp's, or will gladly consider
other suggestions from members of this group. Having this problem go
away will greatly enhance my Wanderlodge experience. Thanks, George

Here's the big question: Why on earth would you consider switching ISPs when the
problem is an e-mail problem?
From where I sit, the e-mail provided by an ISP is the very LAST one you should
consider using. Been a topic heavy on my discussions elsewhere this week as
hughes.net suffered a massive e-mail meltdown (my account sends a lot of
automated e-mails to Hughes users, and I've been dealing with all the bounces).
E-mail accounts should be independent, and preferably portable. Best is to get
your own domain name, but many are reluctant to do that, so alternatives like
Google's GMail (best in my opinion) or Yahoo mail are likely the best way to go.
Choose ISPs for their ability to provide you with a connection. Choose e-mail
providers for their quality, performance, and capacity. There are NO ISPs that
have e-mail systems as robust as Google's.

George, I had peoplepc for a while. i liked the outlook express for mail
delivery, but with this slow dial up- I could not down load the mail in a
resonable amount of time. I went back to AOL and complained to them that their
monthly rate was too high- they lowered it to 10 bucks a month.

Do like I did, get an email account with Yahoo Mail. You can archive your
important emails there and it can be accessed from anywhere in the world. You
can keep your PeoplePC account too. Just don't use the people pc email.
I have DSL access here at home through AT&T although it is called sbcglobal.net.
That was previous to AT&T merging with Southwestern Bell. I used to have
problems during computer crashes when I used Outlook Express or Outlook. I
would lose all my important emails that had not been archived since the last
archive process. Now I don't lose them. They are always there at Yahoo Mail.

Open a GMail account.
http://www.gmail.com. Totally free and you'll (almost)
never have problems. As a bonus, you can switch ISPs anytime and never
have to change your email address again - it will always be
your_username@.... I highly recommend it.
By the way, "over quota" means that peoplepc has decided you have too
many emails in your inbox. They've set a limit for how many messages
you can have, and you've hit it. GMail's limit is huge and it will be
virtually impossible for you to hit it.
