I have two of the 45's in my coach from the factory and I see an odd
issue with them. When I get to a site after having driving for a
long time, and I plug the coach in, the chargers will cause the amp
meter to rock back and forth from charge to discharge, and the DC
lights have flash at the same rate.

If I go to the battery compartment I can hear a clicking noise in
both chargers, at the same rate as the lights flashing. If I look
at the cooling fans they appear to be kind of rocking to the rate of
the clicking noise (not spinning, just kind of moving like 1/50th or
so of a rotation per click which occurs about every .5 to 1
second). I replaced both fans thinking they where the issue, but
the charger and fans still do the same thing.

Neither has an IQ4 smart controller installed. I can disconnect
either from AC power and the other continues, or just plug one in
and it starts doing this. Not sure, but they seem to not do this if
I let them cool off for 8 or 10 hours after making a drive where
they get heated up by the engine and road conditions.

I will contact the manufacture in the next couple days to discuss,
just wanted to know if anyone has ever seen this with this charger?

Michael,
You need to order a IQ4 smart charger and install it immediately. Your two
chargers are competing against each other and it will eventually destroy the
chargers. I would disconnect one charger until you get the IQ4 controller
installed.

Don and Howard,
I have just gone through this with the tech support at Iota, they say that you
need the Parallel IQ4 to work with two chargers... The regular IQ4's will not
work for two charges in sequence... They only work for one Iota Charger... Until
you get a Parallel IQ4, you disconnect one and only run one charger of the IQ4
smart controller...

Don,
I did not ask how your battery bank is set up. I have six 6v batteries in one
bank and one for the Genny up front. If you call John and tell him what you have
he can probably help.
I do not know if the IQ4 needs to match the chargers. If you will call John
Drake Services in Long Beach, California at 562-423-4879 and talk to John he can
tell you. I bought my Iota chargers DLS-55's and IQ4 controller from John. Very
nice guy reccomended to me by another Birder. Let us know what you find out.
