Would this be a good choice for a PT40?
If so how much of a job to install?

Marvin that sounds like a fairly good deal on that Inverter.
If you install it correctly, it will be a fair size job.
I too, have an 85 PT40. I mounted the inverter in the Redi-Line
compartment, on the top shelf. The 120V wiring is encased in conduit
which passes thru the top of the inverter compartment, thru the floor
to the area under the base trim in the bedroom at the foot of the bed
(cross queen). The 120V wires continue forward to the factory
distribution panel and to add'l circuit breaker panel where All loads
that can be powered by the inverter are now located.
Also, use 4/0 Marine grade cables for the 12V side of the installation.
Use a Link2000R controller as you may soon upgrade the alternator to
320amp. Thus you will run 1 roof top a/c from the inverter/alternator
setup.
A bit of a job, but well worth it in my opinion...
