I am troubleshooting my inoperative levelers, and I think I have
identified the culprit in one of the three-pin solenoids mounted under
the step well. When I jump the current cross the solenoid, the motor
runs, so I am pretty sure this is the problem. It is the one where the
third pin must be grounded to deliver the current. Where can I find
one of these?

I bought a generic solenoid that looks similar, but it isn't getting
the job done.

They're by Bosch and don't get cheap, Chinese-made replacements as
they'll fail quickly. Better auto parts stores should carry them, but
you may need to ask. Often the cheap ones are in blister packs on
racks in the automotive electrical department.

I bought a bunch of Bosch relays to have on hand from an eBay vendor
-- about $1 each or so. Genuine Bosch in a 20/30 amp-rating. This URL

Scott,

I hate being the master of the obvious Just call HWH. Just had my
solenoids replaced while there. They look like starter solenoids, but
I believe a bit different.

Thanks for the response, but this is not what I need. I need a
solenoid, not a relay. The large metal cylindrical things often used
on older ignition circuits.

Yes, I will call them if I have to, but wondered if it was more
common item I might find at a place like NAPA. Lots of old cars use
solenoids that LOOK similar....

Scott,
you should be able to find stamped on the end caps the model # and make. You
will probably have to do a good cleaning first. On one of mine the stamp was
faint but could read with a good light and magnifying glass.

Scott,
Cole Hersee is the brand of solenoid on my coach. I would think it would be the
same on yours. Google on Cole Hersee call home office and see if they have a
distributor in Memphis. They will send you a catalog if you ask.

Scott,
I ordered my Cole Hersee solenoid from Ryder Fleet Services. If this leveling
unit came with the solenoids from HWH they may have used a different brand.

Scoot You need a 75 amp continuous duty solenoid
witch you can get at Napa or any heavy duty trucks part house.Dump trucks use
the same solenoid.
