Fellow Wanderlodgers:

I'm shopping to replace the rear shocks on my 83' FC-35 with air
suspension. Bluebird recommends replacing the shocks with non
adjustable Gabriels. I'm not sure if Gabriel still manufactures HD
shocks - I have not yet been able to find them.

My local Napa dealer recommended that I use Monroe HD shocks, part #s
74406. They are $90 a piece.

I had a horrible experience with Monroe shocks on the front of my FC.
My front end bobbed up and down so much I felt like I was sailing a
ship in a storm! I'm hesitant now to put Monroes on my rear.

Koni is marketing a new shock, #9005-1025FSD for the rear of my FC.
They are expensive - $176 each. Does anybody have experience running
them? Are they worth the extra money, and are they an improvement
over the standard Gabriels? I hear great things about Koni's
adjustable shocks, #90-2497-SP1 for the front of an FC. I currently
have them on order.

Your advice and experience is greatly appreciated!

Andy,
I have Koni shocks all around. They were tightened up considerably but the
coach still porpoises a lot more than I think it should. Brad Barton 00LXiDFW

Andy:
I recently purchased new shocks for my coach. In discussion with Earl at BB, he
ultimately let me make the decision, but I went with Koni adjustable up front,
set to max, and Ridewell, which is actual Gabriel for the rear.
Approx cost was $160 for the front and $55 for the rear.
These were purchased from BB with same day delivery.
