Cannon is a brand name. I've used bunches of Cannon XLR series
connectors in the audio field. I've also seen the Cannon brand on
multi-conductor military surplus connectors. Here is a link to a

The round plugs I've encountered in the 'Birds are made by Amp,
similar to the military Cannon, perhaps I wasn't very clear. Sorry.
