How many folks saw the pictures of this '87 Gregory O'Connor posted
about a few weeks back?

"1987 Wanderlodge PT40 Blue Silver 8V92 $49,900.00 for Sale in Florida.
Looks cleanand the price seems good. this bus will be published in
National RV next week. I told the owner I would post it for her"

I called the owner and, no surprise, she sold the bus quickly. Darn! 5
seconds into the images and I had my wife on board and was ready to
hop on a plane to fly down, inspect, and bring it home.

My question is, how often do deals like this come up? Is this
something that happens regularly or was this bus one of those rare
super-deals?

If anyone knows where I can find a similar coach, let me know. Prefer
a PT40 with the 8V92, just don't want to pay $80k for the privilege.
For that matter, if the proud new owner of this bird is having regrets
;-) fat chance, but contact me.

Hello,

Two to four times a year, more if your really persistant. Located on
ebay (can be risky), vintage birds site, and these groups. To be
competitive your really need to have the funds availlable NOW! And be
willing to travel NOW.

Such deals are uncommon, but not unheard of. Either the owner wants a
very fast sale or the owner is not fully aware of the value of the
coach when the price is that aggressive. Most '87 PT 40s seem to be
selling for $70-80 thousand, if in reasonably good condition.

Hi Don,

Good enough. I have cash and am ready to go. Would have taken this '87
in a heartbeat had it still been available. Unfortunately when it was
listed a few weeks back I hadn't started looking yet. Smile

I've seen several, but I look everyday. I mentioned on this board 2
days ago about a nice looking 77FC33 with a reman 3208 that had just
been listed on VBs for $14,500...it's gone also.

Ryan,
Depending, but that should be a good buy. To answer your question
regarding good deals coming along...In February 2005 I paid $35,000 for
our 1987 PT38. It was offered to me at that price. It was always
garaged, 76,000 miles, low engine hours, low generator hours, etc., etc.

Curt, That's a GOOD DEAL in my book! Leaves more $$$s for
"improvements" and "operation" costs.....

Terry, Well said, and I have spent a few dollars and expected to spend a
few dollars on a 20 year old coach. I'm ahead of a friend who spent
$200,000 on a new SOB. His coach has been towed twice in a year, our
'Bird has always returned home on it's own. So far I'm $145,000 ahead. I
like that.
