Couple of thoughts. I post on a number of forums where the signature is
automatic. If
other people here do the same, it's easy to see how unsigned posts appear here.
People
are used to it happening automatically. Is there any feature in Yahoo which
would allow us
to set up permanent signatures?
Also, I have not discovered any feature that allows me to edit one of my posts.
So if I
forget to sign, I can't go back and rectify it.

Signature "requirements" are tough for Yahoo forums. Even if there is some
feature for web-based posts they do not affect those of us who post by e-mail.

When I posted to the Wanderlodge groups from my regular e-mail account I
probably forgot to change my signature 2 times out of 3. Volume eventually got
so high that I set up a different e-mail account strictly for Wanderlodge posts,
and that allowed me to have a "proper" signature.

I suspect that when I'm on the road my location is going to be wrong rather
often because I will forget to update it - I suppose I could change to this for
that part, since it will usually be correct:
My location: http://map.datastormusers.com/user2.cfm?user=1

Don't quite get it. What is the big deal about unsigned posts? If
someone sends an unsigned post and the message is unimportant why
worry about it?

Note on "Netiquette": This is an open membership group. All people
interested in Bluebird Wanderlodges are welcome, whether they own one now or
are just
looking to learn more about them. While this is not an actively moderated
group in terms of approving each post, the group will not allow incivility,
profanity, or personal attacks. Unacceptable messages are comments on politics
or
religion; repetitive, off-topic posts; and messages that contain private,
off-list communications between members or comments about other forums. Please
sign your posts and indicate the type of Bird owned (if you already have one)
so that answers to your questions can be addressed more accurately.
When this forum was established, we, the moderators, put together a few
guidelines-aka" rules" that we would like adhered to.
Every forum that I go to has guidelines. We have ours. Thank you all for
helping to follow what we set up in the beginning.

Forum protocol and common sense. If you have something worth while to say, sign
off on it. Many people won't respond to questions or dispense information to
unfamiliar posters. The real problem for some of us is the bizarre behavior of
hiding behind a internet nickname. Some of us choose not to interact with those
who won't stand for who they are.
