After having the power out for two weeks in freezing temps the bathroom
faucet and shower faucet are not working properly. The sink is a grohe
and I called the company who gave me a distributor who told me the
cartridge cost 75 dollars plus shipping. The shower is a moen so I
think I can get it at home depot or lowes. I didnt order the part for
the grohe since the price seemed higher than a decent faucet
replacement. Has anyone else gone through this situation?

The Moen products have a lifetime warranty. Just call their 800 number
& give them your model numbers.

The Grohe may or may not also have a lifetime warranty?

Robert, I replaced all the insides of all the Moen faucets in our 86FC.
Moen has a lifetime warranty, if time is not a problem you can get the
replacement for FREE. I think HD charges about $20.00 per faucet.
Remember to get the "wrench" it is a small plastic piece that fits
inside to twist the valve stem out. Also get and use some plumbers
grease, make sure it is water proof and high temp. I am not sure about
the Grohe.

Best of luck

Yes, our local HD and Lowe's did not have the cartridge for the Moen shower
valve. I purchased it from a local plumbing supply house. I think $32.00
Easy to change, just pull the U clip and install the new one. If the hot water
is cold rotate the cartridge 180 degrees.
