Well I went and did it. I went to San Jose on Sunday and bought an 84
FC35. The drive line is good and the generator runs great. Beyond
that everything is there, in very good shape, but some things don't
work. My first order of business is to get the propane flowing. The
tank is full but doesn't flow to the stove, fridge etc. Where do I
start? Also, is the water heater gas or electric? I can't find a
place to light it so I'm assuming it's electric?
Okay, that's the first of a million questions...
Besides this one... Are there any Bird owners in the San Diego area
willing to go through some of this stuff with me?

Keith,
About the propane,
There is a shut off for each furnace, the refer, and the range.
The shut off for the range is under the burners. The furnace and
refer valves are located behind - under the refer, it is accesed from
the outside via the little door above the left drive tire.
Of course there is the main shut off at the propane tank.
Also if the DC is off, nothing will work.
The water heater should be AC.
Inside the left rear closet is the main AC circuit breaker pannel.
A "red" light switch should low be on the left side bed.
This swithch is for the water heater on twin bed models.

Awesome, and I take it you had a good trip.
The water tank is electric and off the engine, located under the bed, there is
a switch at the foot of the bed that turns the electric off or on.
I will be posting tonight a number of drawings/schematics which will help you
with a number of questions.
I know I can't come and see your coach, gosh I just live a little too far away
LOL.
Just remember that there are no stupid questions - maybe dumb answers LOL.

Make sure your large shore power/generator rotary switch is switched to the
correct position (Off, 30a, 50a, Gen). My switch is accessible via a lift-up
door (about 4"x6") on the floor, just to the right (if sitting in the seat)
of the front passenger seat. Not sure of the location on a FC. Check your
overhead AC meters which will indicate AC voltage...make sure all of your 110v
circuit breakers are on...one of them is for the AC meters, so make sure, in
particular, that it isn't tripped.
It will get better once you learn all the little tricks...believe me...we
were all there once, too.

Just resetable breakers...no glass fuses...you will show just one leg
energized if you just have one of your two possible 30a power cords plugged in.
I
have a 30a cord that plugs into my 50a coach receptacle that powers up both
legs, but I am extremely limited to what I can turn on without heating up the
cord. If you have the same 30a cord that plugs into your 50a coach plug, you
should get both legs to energize assuming that the breakers are OK...your
overhead AC meters will swing to 120v (+/-).

Thanks Harold, I live in the North County area of San Diego. I saw
all the shut off valves for the different items in the fridge
compartment but was not aware of the one for the stove. I'll check
it out but I think the propane is shut down due to a solenoid or lack
of power to the gas detector? I was planning ontaking it to an rv
place here but don't want to spend a fortune paying them to chase
down the problem. I'm open to all suggestions....

Yes Keith - in addition to all the shut off valves, there is a gas
detector that has to be turned on and have a green light, or gas does
not flow. On a PT the gas detector panel is under the dinette usually.
Not sure where it is on an FC.

Thanks Mike, there is a detector under the fridge but doesn't seem to
have power? The book mentioned something about a detedtor in the
dinette are but I have not looked yet. However, there is a green
light on the control panel for the fridge. I'll look later...
Any advice on ensuring I have power to the whole coach? There is no
power to the microwave for instance....
