I am 99.9% sure I'll be driving an 84 FC35 from San Jose to San Diego
this weekend. I plan on picking up it up on Wednesday, Thursday, or
Friday. I just got a call from Leales Fleet and RV in San Jose.

Is anyone familiar Leales Fleet and RV in San Jose or Dynatrak(sp?)
tires? I know the tires all have to meet government specifications.

Any input would be appreciated.

Hi Keith
We met you folks in Quartzsite and want to congratulate you on your FC35.!!

You have done research and talked to plenty of owners that helped you to come to
your decision.
I am certain you will be pleased with your choice.

Good luck,and many pleasant miles.

Hey Fred, I sure have done my homework. Not my first choice but it
was my best choice for a first coach. I'm going to San Jose on Thurs
to inspect the tires. I already know they are beyond 7 yrs but I
would like to get them replaced in San Diego rather than spending the
weekend in San Jose. Should be an adventure!

I would just say 'drive slow' and be prepared. How far is it from
San Jose to San Diego anyway?

Oh Yea, get a road service contract with Good Sam or other reputable
company before you hit the road.

It's about 500 miles or so? I figure this is an opportunity to
exercise my sense of adventure.

I have AAA rv coverage so I should be okay.

Ron & Patty

Keith,

While turning, clear the corner with the rear wheels. When climbing
watch the gears to keep your RPM's up and eye your water temperature.
When descending use lower gears, and the retarder so as to not
over-rev. Run the fan override while using the retarder for long
descents like you'll have on the Grapevine. Don't over steer. If you
find yourself doing so, try driving with one had only. Look down the
road rather than over your dash.

Regarding the Grapevine. Going southbound into LA, you'll find the
mountain freeway is steep, rough, twistee, crowded and the lines
aren't painted well. Gets confusing as to which lane you should be
in. Take'r slow down that mountain.

Have fun!
