The panel above the entrance door has various gauges for the
generator -- and it has an alarm for "water in fuel" this is not the
same as the "water in fuel" warning for the engine on the dash board.

On very rough roads (of which we have many around here), the alarm
will sound even when the generator isn't operating. Today, on a
relatively short outing to a DMV office (where I had to do a driving
test for a non-commercial class B license) the generator was never
turned on, but the alarm started sounding after going over some rough
patches in the road...

I've replaced the generator fuel filter. I've checked the Racor for
the engine (no water or any other unwanted stuff). I've changed the
small Racor and secondary filter on the AquaHot/Webasto.

Does anyone have any idea why this (expletive deleted) alarm keeps
sounding? I'm getting to the point where a disconnected wire seems
like the only solution...

Hi Pete,

Our 88 FC has a water in filter Racor alarm, and a water in fuel
alarm light. The water in fuel alarm sensor is located in the bottom
of the fuel tank, the contact connections are exposed to all the
elements of road dirt and road water.
These contacts build up road crud and the wires corrode easily, then
become intermittent , causing the light to flicker occationally.
