My 3208 has started losing prime. Are there procedures to find the
leak systematicly? Are there some locations that are known to leak?
Is dye useful? Any help would be appreciated.

I'd check the hoses and clamps right under the doghouse first. However, there
have been
postings in the past on the forum that the pick up tube in the tank is prone to
rusting. If a
pinhole has developed in the top of the tube it could cause the system to lose
its prime I
think. But it's a more remote possibility in my opinion.

Dan, would you elaborate "losing prime"
While running?, After stopped? When?
Do you have a prime pump?
On my 3208 there is a fuel flex hose just
before the final filter, this gave way, lots
of "white" smoke. Check all filter connections,
flexible lines, possibly your fuel pump at
the tank has failed not pushing fuel?

The 3208 will "suck" fuel, you can set a clean
5 gallon can in front of the passenger seat.
Drop a weighted hose into the fuel, prime, then
you can eliminate the front section.

The suction line running from the end of the copper tubing inside the frame
rail at the right front bottom of the cat and ending at the fuel filter
housing on top right rear of cat could be collapsing. This could be so even
if you cannot squeeze/collapse it with your fingers. If you believe it is
the original, just replace it.
