Can anyone explain this oddity? How many FC's did Wanderlodge make on 'pusher
chassis'?

I guess you can call this coach an oddity, but the design was intentional. I
do not believe this is a pusher chassis. Remembering that 1979 was pre
pusher, what Blue Bird did was stack a second FC frame on top of the original.
There are a number of advantages to this design the major one is that the wheel
"humps" are eliminated which makes for a nice flat floor throughout the coach.
BB did not take too much advantage of the flat floor though as the floor
plans remained pretty much the same as other FC's. Another nicety is that the
outside accessible storage compartments have a lot more room. Since the 1979
the coaches had leaf spring suspension there must be a huge amount of room,
almost standing room, to work under the coach. Even my "Normal" 79 has far more
room under it than air suspension 80s models. There must be at least one more
entrance step added.

The bumpers for the XV's are huge. They are also double stacked. Most seem
to be painted. having had three bumpers chromed in the last four years at over
a thousand $ plus per bumper, I think I understand why. Just finding a
chromer with a large enough tank could be a problem.

These coaches are certainly somewhat rare but there are several on the
market, reasonably priced at this time. It has been my observation that about
half
of these coaches have been upgraded with the 250 hp engines as has mine. I
believe that BB made a number of after market turbo engine upgrades. I would be
somewhat leary of a replaced/upgraded dash. In 79 BB did not perform the
finest of electrical work under dash. It would be something to look at anyway.

I was in this coach approximately 10 years ago. Joe was particularly proud
of the dash change. As a whole the coach was quite nice. I certainly can't
vouch for condition of the coach but at the time Joe was a strong advocate
of the merits of the XV. AT the time I had a 78 XV, we thank the first XV
and the only 33'. If you want an older FC look at an XV, among other things
no need to raise the generator, more storage, and you don't have to close
your curtains since no one could look in anywhere but the windshield.

There might be a little too much cynicism regarding this coach. It looks pretty
fine to me and the XV is a very versatile model, what with the large side
storage and flat interior floor. IMO this is nice looking coach and if it has a
low mile turbo engine, a fair value. I have no business interest in this sale,
by the way.

Mike, The jackass remark was directed as to who
is the seller, mixing I, we, us, not the coach.

My first glance at the coach I could tell it was not
a conversion buy never had seen anything quite like it.
Pictures are great, coach is great, I think the write-up
needs some help, just my opinion.

Oh!, he did not mention the landing lights, this coach
had those and probably other items that were not standard.

The Landing lights were standard. This coach was Mr. Luces pride and joy,
fully dressed, special paint job, limited edition. I told folks that when I
got a CW catalog I once looked for things that I wanted but after I got my
XV I already had everything.
