Hi All,
Is anybody familiar with the 1979 FC 35 item #270082300435? It has
been forsale for awhile. I'm sure it needs work. Tires are old etc.
Does anyone have first hand knowledge about this coach?
Regards,
Tom W.

Ebay bus 250077860495 is another one of those "selling it for a
friend" sales. Notice the generator hours of 3285 and the mileage
60,795. Also notice the dash for a 1979????? Compare that dash with
the 1979 270082300435 . Notice that the engine hours are not
shown? It has well over a 100,000 miles on it if the generator is
any indication unless it sat at a lot of taillight parties at Florida
U? You really have to suspect these coaches that are always "sold
for a friend" which means you are never getting answers directly from
the man that owns it. Some legalize perhaps?

Funny you mention that. I was just looking at it before I saw your
message. I always enjoy reading the creative marketing prose. This
is another one of those "I AM SELLING IT FOR A FRIEND OF MINE, AND
WOULD BUY IT FOR MYSELF BUT I ALREADY HAVE ONE." per the ad listing.
Translation: what I don't know, I'll make up.

He claims in the ad: "BUILT ON THE FRAME OF A DIESEL PUSHER, HOWEVER,
ENGINE IS LOCATED IN THE FRONT. THE BUS IS 11" TALLER THAN MOST OF THE
OTHER ONES BUILT IN '79 AS IT IS THE ON THE PUSHER TYPE FRAME. THIS
BUS WAS BUILT AS THEY WERE TRANSFORMING FROM THE PULLER TYPE WITH THE
ENGINE UP IN THE FRONT TO THE PUSHER TYPE WITH THE ENGINE IN THE
REAR." In my mind that would make it *extremely* rare since they
didn't do the first Wanderlodge pusher until 1982.

I wonder if this is a wreck that was raised 11" by a "bus nut"
converter type? As I recall, that was popular back then among the
Eagle bus nut guys doing their own thing. Does give it an interesting
look. Looks like Wanderlodge quality inside however. I wanted to see
a beter shot of the entry door to see how they get into the thing.
The picture doesn't show the door well, but it looks like it was
standard lenght, just raised.

Caveat emptor!

It's an XV-15th anniversary model. 2 frames-one on top of the
other. I believe they came with 210hp originally.

That's what it is, a 15 year anniversary special. I toured one a few years ago,
had the 210, dual pipes all the way to the double stacked rear bumper and
through the lower bumper like a 56 Fairlane. Gen set exhaust was routed into
the engine exhaust. Had cruise airs, really a nice example. The guy pulled a
race car hauler with it and used up what life was left in it. Traded it in
before I could get it away from him. Saw one for sale out side of Pittsburgh a
couple years back, they're around.

This coach belonged to Joe Reed. Among other things Joe changed the dash to
a later model and installed a turbo. LT 90 SP in Eclectic, AL
